Digital Marketing Conference (DigiMarCon) – recap, Day 2

Aug 29, 2024

The final day of DigiMarCon was notable in its focus on actionable, technical, and platform-specific insights. Like Day 1, we were blessed with deep domain experts who matched strategic vision with actual how-tos. It was “inside baseball” for digital marketers, with open and unfettered discussions of funnels, customer journeys, and data platforms. Liberating to be with my people!

1. Proving Digital Marketing ROI: A Data-Driven Strategy with Modern MarTech Tools | Mark Hayes, Task Group

Mark Hayes delivered a deeply technical session, packed with platform recommendations that anchored his data-driven strategy. Task Group is lucky to have a dedicated, data-driven leader heading its growth marketing – it’s not often you have topics like “data platforms” and “segmentation” delivered with such charisma and enthusiasm!

2. Unlock the Future of Web Design with AI | Daniel Birch, User XD

Daniel Birch took us on a fascinating journey through the role of AI in user experience design. His session was a masterclass in understanding how AI is transforming web design. He offered a deeply technical and insightful perspective, going step-by-step through the web design process and walking us through his preferred tooling as he went.

3. Powering up the Agency of the Future | Andy Gibbs, Futureverse

Andy Gibbs showcased Futureverse’s groundbreaking projects that harness the power of Web3 and AI. One standout was an ethically sourced, generative AI music resource — Jen AI – an exciting glimpse into the future of creative agency work.

4. Layered Marketing Concept or How to Succeed with your Marketing Efforts in FY25 | Anna Kolomeets, Darkberry PR

Anna introduced us to a “layered concept,” a powerful metaphor for a well-structured marketing strategy. Her session was both strategic and tactical, providing clear guidance on how to succeed in FY25. And for this dorky, middle-aged marketer….. some valuable fashion tips.

5. Engagement Design in Omnichannel: From Funnel to Loop | Seann Lautner, Air New Zealand

Seann Lautner closed out the day with a high-energy masterclass on engagement design. His approach to omnichannel strategy, CX, and UX, moving beyond the funnel to a continuous loop of engagement (embracing the subscription model!), was both innovative and inspiring. Seann articulated his vision of omnichannel vs. multichannel conceptually with real clarity…. made it all seem so easy!
