I used to worry that my career seemed accidental. Then I realised that the detours are a feature, not a bug.
I’m speaking at the Careers in Marketing event next Thursday, March 5, thanks to The Marketing Club AU/NZ and The Attention Seeker, and it’s got me all reflective.
My resume looks like someone put a whole lot of companies and job titles and threw them into a blender.
I’ve:
- got a degree in Fine Arts
- imported welding equipment
- worked for The Big Mouse House
- Been a distributor of coffee in the UK
- worked on 3 World Cups
- led the marketing for grassroots rugby league
- worked in tech
Now I run my own B2B growth consultancy and performance marketing agency Europa Creative Partners.
I used to worry about it and feel all jelly about people with nice, linear-looking career paths.
Now, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
And come along to the event if you’re in Auckland:
